It’s only recently say about 3 -4 years ago that I began shaping my brows with an eyebrow gel and an eyebrow pencil… No one in our culture pays attention to brows primarily because as Indians we are blessed with hair ALL OVER!
But let’s not get carried away by the density of hair on our bodies, we are speaking about SHAPES & AESTHETICS here.
We take eyebrows for granted – They not only protect our eyes from sweat, water, debris but also change the way we look. Our facial expression is all about the perfect eyebrow shape.
Quick exercise – Notice the eyebrows of people close to you – an arched brow will make their face seem lifted, whereas a drooping brow will make them seem tired/dull/exhausted/sad/frowning!
The shape of your eyebrow can really make or break any look!
Let’s quickly jump into my BROW-ROUTINE:
It’s SUPER easy… And not at all time-consuming (WorkingClassDiva approved method) – but you will need some practice initially!
Clean out excess eyebrow growth, I use a pair of tweezers every 20 days.
EVEN out the eyebrow and eye area first – Apply an eye primer/ foundation/ powder all over. The brow area must seem a little bit lighter and brighter than the rest of your face.
Now pick up any eyebrow product you have and start shaping your brows – My preferred products are:
An eyebrow pencil with a fine waxy tip and a spooly brush (Think the Brow wiz by Anastasia Beverly Hills, Micro-Brow pencil by Nyx professional Cosmetics, Precisely my Brow Pencil by benefit India) OR An eyebrow gel/palette with an angled brush (I don’t have any favourites here but If I had to choose, I would go with the ABH dip brow )
So, this part needs most focus, rest is a piece of cake! You need to ensure that the arch of your brow is primarily from under the brow line and that you do not take the brow filler all the way down your temple parallel to your eyes. Don’t do that!
Just keep everything set angular and upwards, arch-like. A spooly brush or an angular brush used with a light hand is your best friend at this step.
Now, that you have the desired shape (Ed Sheeran does too, haha couldn’t resist) – YOU need to use the same product to fill in the eyebrow shape you’ve created. You need to make tiny hair-like strands – this is a breeze if you’re using the right products.
An alternative to this step on busy/lazy days??? Use a brow gel with a spooly brush like I do – My go-to is the Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow set, a sweat-proof, smudge-free, and humidity resistant formula that comes in seven different hues, as well as a brow gel, and a brush. I am in the shade BROWN EBONY.
Finally, It is important to not go too dark with the brow product shade – you need to find a shade that adds dimension. It is also a tried and tested theory to use a combination of shades to ensure the brows looks multi-dimensional and not flat. Something we do not want…
The Nyx cosmetics Tinted brow mascara is a cruelty-free option too.
Hello Cara Delevingne – your eyebrows are on point now! Just make sure you take it all off before you hit the sack. Let them breathe – nourish them with castor oil.
Go brace the World. Your features are popping- especially your eyes!
